Keeping Up With DrugWars Changes
If you joined DrugWars when it became public, but somehow haven't played since the first days, and you restart now, you'll have to rediscover it. Because the game development didn't wait for you.
DrugWars has a new interface than the one it started with, the battles have been fine tuned more than once, and there are more units to train.
The latest update to the battles will change the rules again. There will be no more shield except for new players for the initial 3 days. Previously an account benefited of a shield of 6 hours after being attacked (when shield was introduced it was 12 hours). But that created the anomaly that bots were able to attack accounts after the shield was over sooner than people did (and they could track a big number of targets simultaneously and act with precision every time).
The new changes also obscure the profile of players. You can't see them as before from inside DrugWars.
Now, to gather information about defending troops, one would need to send a unit to attack a target player. No information about buildings, silos and production can be retrieved this way. And the defender can of course send the army away to fool the potential attacker into thinking he/she has no defenses.
But very soon, a spy unit will be released, and I believe it will provide much more information.
A few discussion points here:
- should a player know he/she was spied upon or not? after all a spy, if not caught, tries to make himself 'invisible'; one solution would be to know if you were spied upon if you have a spy yourself on base (or more spies than the attacker sent)
- should the attack force be revealed to the defender? in which conditions? when? again, maybe spies can play a role here.
On the economics side, or at least that's where I place it, there will be a holiday mode for inactive accounts ("no upgrade, training, deposit, etc...") for more than two weeks. They won't receive any more daily rewards (STEEM), but also they can't be looted while on vacation mode.
What I can say by watching DrugWars development so far (and playing the game), is that feedback is taken seriously. But we keep wanting things to change over night...
