Reverse Psychology and the War on Drugs

in #drugs7 years ago

Everyone has herd of reverse psychology! tell someone not to do something and they do it. well its pretty real and on a major level. the amount of people doing what they were told not to do when they were younger is ridiculous! 'don't jump off a cliff, don't speed, don't steal, don't kill, don't smoke, don't drink don't do drugs!!!

We do reverse psychology everyday but we dont consider it as such. we think of it as, 'i'm a grown up i make my own choices.' In our subconscious, we ask, whats the big deal, or why not? we want to try. We are curious by nature, thats why we have evolved as far as we have.

when it comes to drugs its important to remember that getting high is natural for mammals. from wallaby doings opium to jaguars drippin on vines, humans fit right in on the spectrum with the exception that we are smart enough to make our own drugs. stronger, more addictive and harmful drugs.

deer eat psychedelic mushrooms, and so do humans, bats drink liquor, so do we! Opium, and other narcotics are on the list for man and beast alike, so this goes to question why the war on drugs?

In the 70's Richard nixon campaigned for the war on drugs. against national poll data, doctor and scientist recommendation they launched their campaign creating propaganda to extent of completely lying about the narcotics.

Reefer Madness is a prime example of the lies they spread to in create fear in the people.

in the 60's less than 200,000 people nationwide suffered addiction problems 'other than tobacco/alcohol' by the 80's how ever that number sky rocketed over 2 million people! into the 2000's the numbers reached over 20 million people

THERE'S A PROBLEM HERE! what is that problem? THE DRUG WAR!

The war on drugs has created a chasm between the people, as well as created a dependance on the items they are at war with.

As it is with all items that are illegal, drugs went onto the black market. Despite popular belief the black market is very easy to find. You just have to know who to talk to and what to say.

Drugs, being mind and body altering, are of high demand to the public across the globe, so therefore they are very much plentiful. not quite following the laws of supply and demand, prices of drugs stayed high because people became physically and mentally addicted to the substance, and would be willing to go to extreme lengths to get those substances.

Today, as stated before we have a minimum of 20 million people in the U.S. affected by the war on drugs. this affects the Millennial Generation a much different way than other generations. While other Generations experienced life before the war, the millennial generation did not. we grew up with bill boards, commercials, and adults of every profession telling how bad drugs were, how they would destroy your life and you would go to prison.

DON'T DO DOPE!! 1 JOINT = 20 YEARS! ONLY FAILURES USE DRUGS!

We never once experienced a time before DON'T DO DOPE became a thing. we didn't experience a time where police would take your stash and smash it on the ground. We experienced immediate deterrence at the very idea that we might do drugs.

so why then are so many millennials and other generations doing drugs???

BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD OUR WHOLE LIVES NOT TOO! and now that we have experienced them, in a not so controlled environment, we have started to abuse them, just like previous generations.

Law enforcement are more interested in making a drug arrest than they are solving crimes... Law enforcement stands firmly AGAINST drug law reform. EVEN MARIJUANA REFORM LAWS ARE WITHIN THE RADAR OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Citizens have turned to legal methods of getting high including creating and altering drugs. Prime example is Crack Cocaine for an altered drug- created by a drug dealer attempting to move his drugs without police interference.
Another example would be SPICE! the synthetic "cannabanoid" that swells your brain and makes you feel high or something along those lines.

It is important to remember that despite what the Nixon Administration, the Bush administration, or any other administration tells you, the war on drugs is failing. IT HAS FAILED it was destined to fail when it was declared, 'so long as someone is willing to use it, someone will be willing to get it' said Nixon.

The effects of the drug war on the millennial generation stretches far and wide. the amount of people affected is ridiculous!

ask yourself.. how did 200,000 addicts turning into over 20,000,000 addicts become something the war on drugs was "MEANT" to do??

It is time to open the book to a new chapter on how to address this disastrous problem. That step includes removing Law Enforcement from Legislation. they became law enforcement to enforce the law, if they wanted to change and create the law then they should have followed a different career field.
