We know most drones to be small and for recording ariel footage so they are only designed
for small weights and short distances due to the size of the batterys.
A company by the name of Ehang corp (chinease company) have made a flying taxi
which has been deigned for transporting people and has done over 1000 test flights
without any real passangers says CNN
Ehang at CES in Las Vegas 2016 made a huge announcment for a personal transport drone.
The 1000 test flights done have been done under multiple environmental conditions. More tests will be done
in Dubai and Las Vegas.
The drone has 8 electrical motors. The drone can travel 0-80mph for 23 minutes and up to 10 miles.
The drone can hold 500 pounds and carry people and luggage. The drone has auto pilot and uses navigation and GPS to travel. Also it has a safe ground landing system to have a smooth landing.
The problem with having a drone transport system is the price. It can be very expensive and will only be left to the rich people. It would be an amazing evolution in technology and transport.
