DJI Mavic Pro

DJI makes aerial photo enthusiasts so excited when news of their portable drone, Mavic, will be launched. Finally DJI officially announced Mavic Pro, this drone can be folded, and so more portable to carry anywhere with a very compact size. The hassle of carrying the drones is indeed the reason for some people to seriously record with drones, so this is an encouraging trend.

Specifications and Features

From its own specifications, Mavic can record 4K video formats at 30p or or 1080p at 96fps. The camera itself has a 12MP sensor that can focus within 48cm. The camera features three-axis dreadlocks to maintain stability, and the DJI claims that the gimbal design allows the camera to shoot long exposures for two seconds. DJI also makes the camera can shoot raw photos in DNG format.

Mavic Pro can fly up to 27 minutes continuously in one full charge battery. Sport mode is available where the Mavic drone can fly at 40MPH and is claimed to be stable in 24mH wind speed. While in 'Tripod' Mode, the camera can be positioned more precision.

ActiveTrack Mode on Mavic Pro updated better. This feature can identify moving objects such as people, cars, or animals. There is a choice of 'follow' (follow the object), 'circle' (around the object), and 'lead' (the drone is in front of the object). Drones from DJI can also track and follow its users. You can do self video while moving.

Another feature that is also very helpful to the drone pilots is the ability to avoid obstacles when flying.

New Controller Design

Mavic Pro remote controller has a design that changes compared to the controller from other series DJI drones. The design is more compact and has a place to put the smartphone on the bottom of the controller. This smartphone can also be used to control drones. You simply touch the smartphone screen to control Mavic.

Comes with Goggles

DJI Goggles is designed to experience aerial video recording with first-person view (FPV). So users can see the recorded scene from the point of view of the drone camera. But the application also allows the pilot to see images from a third person's point of view, and switching between the two points of view can be done quickly. With OcuSync technology, these goggles receive live video from the camera in the Mavic Pro drone instead of the controller, so the lag between the original recording and the live views via DJI Goggles will be shorter.
