First ask about what you can build and what you can't build, spanish law with properties is one of the worsts in the world, also they will tax you for anything you build, and make you destroy anything you build that is not according to the law and pay the demolition costs.

Thanks @kokoliso I will be sure to pass this information on.

Thanks for taking the time to offer this.

You are welcome, just check the legal side of the property, if it is woodland they will not let you build, only fix without changing anything of whatever is already built, if it is urbanizable land, then you can build, but landprice will be much more expensive.
Ask in the townhall where the property is registered, wich kind of land it is and if you can build whatever you have planned before you buy anything.

Also check if it has running water and electricity, if it doesn't you might have to pay part of the lines to get it, and they will not legalize the construction if it does not have water and electricity. Or else you need to build a well, and install solar power cells and legalize those installations...

Thanks for all the advice.
