Dreemit's World: Happy Wine Trail Wednesday steemit! (A different approach)
What can I tell you about this one? Well, I can tell you the technical stuff, like:
Wagner's is the second oldest winery on the Seneca Lake Wine trail, opened by Stanley "Bill" Wagner in 1979. He was active in the business right up until he died at the age of 83. His children John and Laura currently run it together.
And you can learn many similar things here:
https://wagnervineyards.com/
But what I should really tell you, is that it's my second favorite winery, for the reason that I've spent several entertaining days and nights here.
The night before one of my closest friend's weddings.(I would say more, but that would be it's own post)
The day my brother decided we should go on a wine trail before heading to his friend's in Ithaca for a cookout.
("See above parentheses")
A few tours with my family, an aunt and uncle who are no longer with us,
an aunt uncle who still are.
Another close friend of mine worked here and I got a large discount on alcohol during that time period.
I watched the movie Keith last night, has anyone ever seen it?
I'm not going to tell you what it's about, it would ruin it.
But I will tell you that it made me think. And it made me erase most of the information I had actually written in this post.
Because the information bored me. Why would I think it would interest anyone else? It was as dry as these reds.
If I had put it up and got a "Nice Post" I would have deserved it. Well, maybe the pictures are better than nice.
In which case I could have left it mostly blank. I've done that before. Let the pictures tell the story.
A new friend recently asked me for advice. But I've come to believe that it's not generally helpful to add vices.
Especially when you don't know if what you're going to say will help or hurt.
I do feel better!
It does buy chocolate!
There is nothing here that I need. Something might make a good gift though.
Ditto.
That is an impressive collection of award winning wines.
(Is something I would think if I were a connoisseur)
It's amazing to think about how many thousands of gallons of wine have come through those pipes in the past thirty years.
I forgot to delete that. Actually, I have no way of knowing when those pipes were last replaced, so many gallons of wine have surely come through there, but potentially not for thirty years. It is still pretty amazing to imagine the amount of wine that has been made in that room though.
This is my favorite photo, I honestly prefer uninterrupted nature. (Get out of my picture tables and guy!)
The Ginny Lee Cafe is a fantastic restaurant connected with this winery.
Once again something I forgot to delete, though there was more right here that I did erase. I'll be doing a post about that cafe, something like "An Afternoon With Mom". Okay, that's a terrible title. Though it is to the point.
I am fairly new to blogging. Fiction is what I generally write, so lately I've been trying to get the hang of this blogging thing. Some posts are somewhat formal, some informal, some mostly pictures...tell me what you prefer, that will help a great deal :)

Generously created for me by @son-of-satire
I like the landscape, and the clouds. I even like the guys and the table, as they add a bit of counterpoint (is that the right term?). Wine, meh. But did someone say chocolate?
I think that's the right term...maybe reference point? Not sure haha. Yeah, actually I could have cut them out, but actually i would have left them in for @jedau anyway (we have a running joke about how people seem to be completely absent from my posts, like they all scatter when they see me coming, lol!)
On many days I would have to agree with that sentiment, definitely far more chocolate then wine lately. Still like a good beer though...I refuse to let go of that just yet! haha.
Maybe I just mean contrast.
Yes, I've seen the running joke about no people - those ones are so far away they hardly count anyway ;-)
Been a chocoholic my whole life and never that keen on alcohol. I occasionally have cider, or bubbly, or Bayleys.
AHAHA! Yeah! I saw, I saw. They're like the opposite of gremlins when in contact with water. I was distracted by the clouds the first time so I failed to spot them. It was in the second viewing did I notice their existence.
LOL!
Hahahahaha What an informative article. Great pictures although the clouds in that landscape shot are a little overdone in my opinion, I really like the rest of the shots.
I will be sure to tell the sky to stop having so many clouds! LOL
(Those are not filtered pictures, the setting on my camera was just a bit sharp because I didn't switch the lighting from the indoor to outdoor--but that's actually the way the clouds looked hee hee)
Lol ahhhh that's what I was referring to, the sharpness -not the number of clouds! That part looks awesome
great pictures! as usual. the one with the cloud and the field was my favorite. Such a nice view
Thank you! I love scenery, I prefer taking pictures of the outdoors :)
scenery is the best. Especially sunsets and a nice view
Your blogs are awesome, are you sure you are new to it? Great detail and very interesting topics. Also, great photos. I am not a big wine fan but this place looks awesome!
Hi there! I'm just catching up on responses, I see that you're in my book post too :) Thank you! I am new to blogging yes, though not writing, so maybe it's working out, lol. Definitely new to photography, having a lot of fun with that.
(I like wine, but I'm a much bigger fan of beer--there is a brewery at Wagner's too, which I will cover in another post ;)
Ohh the clouds, ohhh... the... clouds... How my heart aches and fills with joy at the sight of you. This would've been the perfect early afternoon cover for SILVER LINING. At least we have Dreemit's World to share. Oh clouds...
While all the shots are great, I have to say that the first pics are a trypophobic's nightmare haha! Could you have pocketed as much wine bottles as you wanted? There doesn't seem to be anyone keeping a close eye on anything any way. Ghost town wherever you ... Oh! There they are! It's like Where's Waldo every time just to see hoomans in Dreemit's World haha! I was just too distracted by the clouds to see them before. It's great of them to pop up--it's fortunate you capture the ever elusive homo sapiens in one of the photos.
Hahaha!! I know it, it really is quite hilarious. I should have taken a picture at the gas station this morning on my way back from catching the sunrise at my parent's. It was well after 6 am at a place that I have never been to without other people before, and the parking lot was deserted (I think they sense it when the camera is in my pocket)
Seems like a fine but of blogging to me! Looks like a fantastic place. Kinds place I would love visiting!
So the reds... They were dry? ;0)
Very dry. I do not enjoy dry wine, they make my mouth taste like what I imagine my grandma's toes would taste like. I do enjoy a couple of their semi-dry wines, though I prefer it to be a tad on the sweeter side (immature pallette they call that I believe)
Now beer. That's a whole different ball game. I am a connoisseur of beer. And this place has a brewery, a freaking amazing brewery that will be in another post, probably the one with my mom ;)
I don't like dry wines of any description either. I like my red's to be plump and juicey!!!
I think that will be a very entertaining post!!!
I could hear you say that in your Scottish accent...actually I think Shrek's voice is narrating for you now hahaha!
That should be entertaining...come to think of it the title "Mom and a Brewery" would also be to the point, lol.
Mom and a Brewery. Splendid title!
Lol, Mike Myers has a great Scottish accent. The first time I heard it I was quite amused!
I like your photo comments- tee hee!
Was it the Todd Kessler film?
Why thank you! I had fun with that. I truly did have much more informational and boring headlines under those pictures haha! Yes, it was the Todd Kessler film-- made me cry. It was so different, I loved it.
I may take a (vine) leaf out your book one day!
I would be honored!
:) This is also my favourite photo. I stopped scrolling when I saw it and thought 'What a lovely view!'
I think your posts are fine the way they are without having to force one style or the other. It's all you!:)
Thanks for sharing @dreemit!
Hi sweetie! Ha, thank you. Maybe my style is to not have one in particular :) I did in fact have many more statistics in this post, but as I said, it would not have interested me. Definitely shouldn't write things that I don't relate to.
You should find a 'letter' in your 'box' when you wake up in the morning, I had a similar experience with scrapping some material last night, definitely have to be careful of adding vices :)
:) would it surprise you to know that I, a native of the land of Scotland, don't drink alcohol? At all! :) Not the kind of thing a Scotsman should admit and please don't tell meesterboom as my bfellow countrymen might disown me for letting the side down.
I enjoy other means of relaxation. :)
Well since your bro has admitted to pretty much the same (not sure about the 'at all' part, but rarely at any rate) it doesn't surprise me as much as it would have :) Though yes, meesterboom would probably be quite taken aback hahaha.
I enjoy the other means of relaxation too, more often also :)
Your adding of vices to my life is always welcome @dreemit. Thanks for the wise words of experience. :) Speak to you again very soon!!
The closest i've come to their wine was fresh grape juice, and their apple juice. I took a couple on a wine tour way back when and they didn't want me to feel left out...Perks of a DD hahaha. I still love the scenery. Oh and the smells that come out of that kitchen are out of this world. They are always busy though i have to admit i've never been inside the restaurant. Thanks for bringing me back in time, enjoyed it.
I remember their grape juice, mom used to buy a couple sparkling bottles for the kids when we were young and would be dragged out on tours.
Hm, it would not be a bad thought to have you come and DD for some of us this summer...do the write up after we get back, (after many tastings) that should be entertaining.
Thanks for stopping by ;)
Oh good times, I see it already...I'll be happy to do it. We'll have to do it sometime this summer. Should be a good time and a day to remember.
I like all the fancy wine glasses I see. I don't drink wine but they'd be nice for a nice coca cola. It's a pretty building. I like the plank wood design on the front welcome shot.
You would have to mention coca-cola. My nemesis (my love that is the cause of all weight issues, so I periodically give it up haha) The wine glasses are definitely fancy, I have a couple. I drink more beer than wine, but occasionally I enjoy it. Beer has also been a nemesis ;) Not the cheap stuff for me though, micro-brewed in a frosty mug :)
