Where It All Began.

You know that moment when you're standing still, and everything around you seems to be moving really fast?!

That moment when you stop and wonder, what am I doing?! Did I really just work 10 hours to go home, eat with my family real quick, run to practice, run back home, and go to bed. All crammed into 4 hours. Then do it all over again tomorrow. physically exhausted, emotionally drained, and your family seeming disconnected?!

Then, Before You know it, 10 years have passed and your still doing the same thing. Except your kids are 10 years older, you're 10 years more tired, and 10 years more in debt. Still feeling like you're just living to work.

Yeah, that was us. 100% us. Worst part about it....we almost kept going deeper and deeper. Every few years taking on a bigger house & another year newer vehicle. Even though we would have those tiny moments of God saying " guys, slow it down a little, pull it back a hair".
All the while, thinking that's what we're "supposed" to do.

Y'all, we were living to work. Working more than we lived in a 24 hour period. We were literally scheduling our lives(4 hours a day) around work(10 hours a day). #backwardsliving

Then one day, driving down the road DH and I were chatting about ANOTHER house. Once again, increasing our current mortgage by " just a few hundred more a month". That conversation segwayed into his new job, and how it really wasn't enough money (Never is right) mind you, he was on job number 3 in 12 months simply trying to climb the income ladder. All while he wanted nothing more than to start his own small business. BUT OF COURSE, we couldn't afford that, we didn't have the money. We couldn't afford the financial risk, we had too many bills. We couldn't save that kinda money, we owed too many people.

Then all of a sudden one day while driving down the road. God put a tiny bug in my DHs ear, and he mumbled in a dreamy kinda way " remember when we used to say we were gonna build a little pole building style house out in the country and just be."
YALL!! That was the LIGHT BULB MOMENT. I literally turned to him (the lightbulb still in my head) & asked him how much he could do it for?? As he started spouting out figures going 100 mph, in some sort of architect engineer, meets Rain man kinda way. I couldn't believe how quickly our entire future plans just made a complete 180. I simply looked and him and told him we could do it, pay cash for all of it AND......wait for it.....wait for it. He could start his dream job!! Like the next day if he wanted!! All with the Equity we had in our house. We had literally been sitting on our financial freedom. The money we WERE planning to roll into yet another, even bigger more expensive house.

Y'all, This man has busted his butt, for real hardcore physical labor for this family for years, upon years. Missing games, late for dinners, leaving before kids are even awake in the morning, rolling in sometimes after they were even tucked in. All so we could do what? Sleep in a big fancy house?! Not anymore. This man wants nothing more than to be here with us. As a family. Enjoying all the moments together. The moments he's been working through. Our oldest will be out of the house in 4 years(four years y'all), our second 6 years and our babe, 14 years. These years fly by and we want to spend as much of them as we can together. Because unfortunately, one day, it'll be gone. One day our kids will be gone. We'll be gone. We don't wanna waste that time working quality time away anymore. So for now, we're deciding to work around our living. Living first. Family first. Time is short friends.... so Dream on, Venture often and Vibe it up.
