First step requirement on my MAN journey! 💙

My purpose for applying to the distance education program and plans after completion of graduate study at the UP Open University!!!

Every time I get to encounter this demand of career’s purpose and plans for the future. I cannot imagine how ideas would flight and coordinate on their own paths just to make it easier to foresee. Even though we do not really have that leisure of freedom to choose, I still believe that for a slight chance, we can achieve the ultimate dream. It may be ours to decide or from Above. After all, who would not have love dreaming big?
Healthcare has become more complex and is in constant change. As this evolving situation happens, a more educated nursing workforce is needed. Basically, it is a huge opportunity for me knowing that there is an open university in the University of the Philippines, wherein I could take it using their distance learning education program since I can still work and study at the same time. I chose this medium of education for a more accessible way to continue my nursing education as necessary as it is to maintain my profession in line and to earn an advanced degree to work at my highest level of authority. I am currently working as a DR-NICU Staff Nurse at one of the hospitals in Cebu. As we battle against the COVID-19, unprecedented pandemic, I am proud and honored to be fortunate enough in handling infected clients with an utmost clinical protocol. Through this situation, I was able to understand more on the necessities of advanced practice and learning.
Nursing has always been a versatile calling to me. Just like, living with an ultimate purpose, every single day. Enrolling to graduate school would prepare me to qualify for a more competent nursing specialization, in leadership, and especially in research. Choosing a specialty was even more challenging, as it turns out, there is no such thing as typical nursing career path. As we are facing today’s rising need to help the healthcare organizations save money and improve the deliverance of care, I believe I would excel in this field as I am not just interested, but also passionate towards further clinical nursing and education. Moreover, leadership roles in this profession may come in a variety of reasons and outcomes, but all provide fellow nurses the ability to lead and manage.
After my completion of nursing graduate study at the University of the Philippines Open University, I plan to pursue a career path towards the hospital setting and become a Clinical Nurse Specialist and aim to practice competency in assuming managerial function in education, im health and wellness industry settings through advanced knowledge and skills on the specific roles of an educator, a clinician, and a researcher. I am also eyeing to use my successful education for future work not only in the local community but also on global opportunities.
Wherever and whatever this career may take me in the near future, all I can ever rely is the truth be told of having a great investment towards career growth, community service, and enhancing personal knowledge, skills, and attitude that has all been fostered through setting achievable professional goals.
