Inspired by a Dream

A quick freewrite inspired by a dream I had this night

We are in a marketplace. I don't know exactly which country..
There is a girl, she looks homeless and alone.

I have a bunch of strawberries, but they are a bit bad, so I ask her for a knife to cut the bad parts off. She gives me one with a big smile on her face. It is a foldable shiny metal knife. I realise that I have my own though. A simple table knife with a red plastic handle, which is from the house I stay in now.

I start collecting my stuff, which is all colored pencils, really nice ones, which all goes in two different boxes. One big and one small.
The girl helps me.

Then she starts playing guitar and singing. She sings a famous song I know, but i don't remember which one now. An old rock classic I think, but it is very deep and makes me cry. She cries too and hides under a blanket.

• India? India is beautiful, do you remember India?

No.. But everyone loves India...!

Yes it's true, I know, it's easy to love India, when you go there as a foreigner and everything is cheap - good food, good chai, shiny jewelleries.. But I know that for many people who live there live is not easy.
India is a parallel universe though. It's like the fairytales. It is so full of magic, but also of darkness. India is never mundane. It is always colorful and full of action. You should go there one day. But you are probably not supposed to live there.. Else you wouldn't be here now. Even though that could mean a million other things too.

But I feel responsible for you now. I feel a bond to you. like family.

I am not rich though, so I'm not gonna take you to a mansion and dress you in nice princess clothes. This is not that kind of fairy tale. But you see, I don't believe much in money. I don't trust money.
Money was made by humans and build on a lie. A lie that says there is not enough for everyone and that goods and services are worth more than the healthy eco systems and the people they derive from.

And I tell you what. There is not enough money for everyone. Even though a top few owns way more than the rest of us combined and even if they would let go of that - there still wouldn't be enough for everybody. Money is build on scarcity and money will always be scarce. Even for those who have "enough".
But there is wealth enough for everyone! There is enough food, air, water, stuff and life for everyone!
We just need alternative ways to get it, because if we only trust in money, we will never get enough. And we have to realise that we already have abundance, and that we will always be given what we need, if we ask for it.

The universe knows us, but it can be a bit tricky. It gives us what we ask for, but we have to be careful in what we ask for! What we think we want may not always be what we need and we are able to complicate our lives a great bit by asking for every little bit we desire, without thinking about how it might affect other people or aspects of our lives.
What we need is always there.
There is enough of that for everyone.
