Drawitbetter Contest #7 Parrot
I drew this guy using Microsoft Paint because I wanted the colors to be bright and really pop.
Here is how I drew my feathery subject.
I got a nice picture from the internet and opened the Paint program. When I draw something more complicated than doodles with Paint, I use a combination of lines and polygons to form realistic shapes.
I decided to give him a darker color:
Started putting the other colors:
And with the use of squiggly lines made outlines of the feathers:
I draw the branch he is perched on and start adding more colors and shading:
I took a long time to figure out what kind of background to draw and initially chose this mustard backdrop:
I add yellow and white highlights:
It looked finished at this stage:
But I decided to give it a more natural background, and here's the final picture again:
I don't usually draw animals so this contest was good practice. Hoping I can make better ones in the future. I'm grateful for all the contests being held as they challenge me to improve. :)
See you next time,
#untalented

Awesome! This is classic. So I could learn to draw by using my PC too? I'm gonna submit this to a couple of friends on here..
BTW, as part of the #hug-an-artist challenge this week, here's a warm #hug from all of us at the #Air-Clinic server on discord.

Just joined. Thanks so much! I love using MS Paint as it's very simple to use and making great art is possible with it! Just takes practice and some patience. :)
