Draw It Better Contest #16: Mystical Doodle Owl

I am here to show you my entry for @sirsensei's draw-it-better contest with the week's theme- OWL.

I am so excited to draw and make an art for this week's theme because owl is one of my favorite animal to draw. I dont know but there is something with this mysterious creature that makes me interest about it especially when it comes to an art.

All right! Let's not waste any time since I am super duper excited now to show you how I made this art.

Materials needed:
Pencil
Sign pen
Marker
Coloring pastel
Cotton

PROCESS:
1 Planning and sketching. Here I was actually thinking on how my owl would look like. But I would love it to be super close like I can make focus on its parts. And to make something twist on this art, later part I will yes make focus on its parts but this time I would love to add a doodle art on it.

A sketch for its form first.

Until everything's sketch except for the doodle art. I have decided to add the doodle on the tracing part already since doodle can be done in our own ways and I want it to be random so that I can have a perfect touch of it with own imagination.

1. Tracing and Detailing. So first let's focus tracing the form of my owl.

And then slowly, we add the doodle art on the different parts of the owl, like from its head down to its wings.

Slowly detailing also the doodle.

Until here's the final result! My owl is then done!

1. Background Editing. Alright I dont usually make backgrounds on my drawings (you can even check on them) but then I dont want to cut the drama of it being 'mystical' and so I decided to make a background of it! And yes maintaining the drawing and doodle untouched or I mean without any colors and to make emphasis of it especially the doodle art.
   
   I planned to placed a moon.
   
   Adding now some colors, black and navy blue and other variations of blue to have a nighty background effect (since owls we all know are nocturnals)
   
   
   Spread them thoroughly and clean the mixed colors with cotton to have a clean work especially when using pastels.
   
   To finalize everything, I put some stars effect on the background using the white pastel. Then, owning the art I put my username @janeynarzoles1.
   
   All set! And yes, here's my entry for this week's theme- Owl. I love owls so muuch!!
