I saw @sirsensei's post and the new drawitbetter theme is "scorpion"

There are so many wonderful entries! To add, we used to own two scorpions in the past. My cousin brought it home along with a tarantula.

I was so fascinated. Now, it's my first time to draw anything with this theme.

I guess I had to draw two of them in memory of our two baby scorpions.

Then it's strange how my pinky reminded me of a scorpions tail.

I made a pinky promise

Let's proceed to the process photos.
I took few simple steps to create this.
Materials

• Mechanical pencil
• Kneaded eraser
• Mechanical eraser
• Paper
• Black marker (broad tip)
• Regular gel pen: black
• Fine tip black pen

🎨let's draw🎨
(1) looking at the reference photo I draw two oblong shapes for each palm. I draw it where the hands are supposed to be.

Mind the distance.

(2 - 3) I sketch the hand and shade. I also smudge it and erase it with a mechanical eraser. This is an easy way to create 3D effect.

I always think it's easier to smudge and darkly shade it and erase using a kneaded eraser and a mech. Eraser.

(4) inking
I use my black pens and marker

• Outline the hands
• Ink the scorpions in (I just looked at scorpion pics and drew them in)
• Darken background
  

Ready to be scanned

Crop it
And it is finished!

I only drew this in an hour. I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome.
