I’ve been following @sirsensei for quite a while but missed to join last week’s contest with the theme Pokemon. So this week I decided to give it a try!

This is my entry for #16 Drawitbetter Contest - Owl:

The character is actually derived from the #steem-cartoon community logo, so consider this as a fan art. You can read more about the creation and origin of the logo from @cartoonistpandan’s post here.

The Process

I started with composing a rough sketch with a blue ink.

Then I draw the outline of the whole thing.

Added the base colors.

Threw in some texture of the owl’s feathers and some shading.

When there’s shade, there’s also highlights at the other end.

Finally, added some more details to the whole scene.
