Draw it better challenge no. 10 Marvin the psychotic clown

Here is my creepy entry for @sirsensei’s #drawitbetter contest.

I drew the sketch for Marvin yesterday.

Today, I went inked the sketch digitally in Clip Studio Paint on my IPad Pro. I used the Apple Pencil which has pressure sensors and is therefore very handy. It was something of a speed challenge because I am challenging myself to create 1 post a day on Steemit and it IS almost midnight. The pen and colouring must have taken me a bit over an hour. I used hatching here and there to give structure to the face with a few shadows.

Voila, I added the colours with a watercolor brush, I am still experimenting with the different tools. I liked the stage when I added the dark background and saw how the light skin layered on top of it. It of course prompted a few touch ups.

Thank you @sirsensei for a super fun challenge, I loved to peek into the soul of this dark character. It reminds me of that trend last summer where people were genuinely going crazy, taking the clown prank too far. They would even get beat up sometimes.
