I just created a logo for someone - my first commission and a day of work
Hello steemians!
Today I have decided to create a logo. It was for a commission of sorts. :)
I've started with paper sketches and unfortunately I didn't make any photos of the process itself. I do have the end result drawings to show. I've decided to do it digitally and this time I didn't stumble upon any walls, problems, or things I couldn't fix quickly. The process of digitizing itself took about 2 hours, and I haven't spend more than 30 minutes for both paper sketches (I did those yesterday).
The idea behind the logo was to have a pirate bunny that likes carrots above everything else and cares for nothing else. I think I've captured it pretty well. Don't you think?
First draft - which was pretty small (3cm x 1.8cm) and where the idea was born. It was drawn in pencil and later outlined with fine liners. Just a touch of red and green marker and orange colored pencils to finish. I wasn't happy with the ears.
Second draft - again, a small image (3.5cm x 2.4cm) and I played with different ears. This time it took few touches of green and red markers and few colored pencils. This was the image I liked more.
As you can see the end logo is really a combination of both paper drawn drafts. I took the best of both images and combined them into one final logo. Horns weren't looking good on the digital version so I've scrapped them. They were just a bit too much (overkill).
I hope you like it.
Have fun and keep steemin!
@zneeke
Wooohooo!
It's perfect!
Thank you! :)
Wow... awesome avatar! :P
oh... that's rad!
so a commission of sort... yes? a bunny that likes carrots... I smell a hidden teaser here... tell me more, what's this all about, hehehe :D
The thing is that I'm not really getting paid for this one :)
Hence the wording "sort of commission" :D
heh... @arnulfo spilled the beans... at least we know what it was all about now.
I dig the digitisation you've made from the sketches, is that done with vectors?
Yes. I used illustrator for that :)
It was fun and for the first time, painless :D
Kudos!
Nice one man. I love it !!
Thanks :)
First thing made digitally I'm totally happy with :)
And rightfully so.
The design is awesome and I actually prefer the digital one to the sketches too. Super clean and darn good looking :D
Thanks :)
I played with it until I was totally happy. And I'm super excited :)
I think I'll make that as a t-shirt design too :)
(I have the permission - heheheee)
Really nice graphic! I also started to create graphics, still not as good as you, but I think with some practice I'll get better.
What software you use for transforming it from drawing to graphic?
I've used Adobe Illustrator for this one (practice with it in past few weeks really paid off). :)
Keep doing it, keep having fun, try out new things and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learn from them and enjoy the process as much as you can. :)
This is really great! The sketches are nice, but the vector one pop out so much more with the colors and clear details :D
But most importantly the contrast makes the image very clear that it's an angry bunny in @arnulfo 's small user profile. xD
Thanks :)
Yeah :) I played with it for some time. It was fun and I totally lost the track of time until it was mostly done. Then I fine tuned some little things and the end result is here. :)
Yeahh when you lose track of time, that's when you know it is a cool drawing :D
Hvala puno! :)
Bit će ih :)
Hey ^^ As you haven't posted in a while: I nominate you for the Black and White Photo Challenge :D
My original reply disappeared (browser crashed).
I haven't posted anything in a while because I had really busy last few days, more like two weeks. I also ended up in hospital last week, twice. First time on Tuesday night, and again on Friday night. Other than that I had several job interviews and I was thinking about them. I'm set to have surgery on April 20th and my mind right now is set on that. I was busy with all that happened in those past 10-12 days and posting on steemit wasn't really my priority. I didn't feel like anyone should know about that. But since there are people that missed me, here it is.
I'm also working on a project which is nearing its completion and I'll reveal it soon enough - when it's done - and not a moment sooner. For that project I'm fully committed, success or failure I decided to stick with it for at least 60 days and see what happens.
I am nominated for black and white photography challenge. May I refuse to participate in that challenge? Honestly, I don't want to be bothered with it right now and I don't really feel like doing it. I like photography but I have no clue what to go for and which pictures to take. Especially B/W photos. I don't want to edit color photos in photoshop to make them black and white.
Please nominate someone else.
Oh wow, I'm sorry! Please get well soon and most importantly take care of yourself over any work! Also if you don't wish to share what happened I understand. However, I would like to know how it all turns out. I really hope all turns out well.
Good luck with all the interviews and I'm really looking forward to your big reveal!
The nominations aren't serious and you can certainly refuse. I'll find another victim tomorrow :)
Good luck!
