It is definitely similar to your aesthetic. You should give it a watch! It's bizarre as hell, but there's some very cool eye candy for the time. Looking forward to more of your stuff. :)
When it came out, some were very critical of the Bakshi effort, but I loved it. I still have a paperback printed on glossy paper where they took each scene and printed the dialogue in word balloons to make it into a graphic novel. Now that I think of it, it was probably a precursor to the graphic novels of today.
Have you read the Runestaff series by Michael Moorcock? That's what this illustration reminds me of. The author grew up in London during the Nazi bombing campaigns, so his work is very influenced by the war. Someone once asked him if it was scary, but he said he was so little that he didn't fully understand the gravity of what was going on. He actually rather liked it because it was great fun playing in the bombed buildings and craters. Anyway, it's a fascinating series.
