The Peculiar One, Belle

By the time I read @angiechin28 contest post, Who Is Your Favourite Disney Character, I was torn and had a difficult time in choosing only one character since all of the Disney Princess and Princes are my favorites.

Since I need to choose only one, I decided to choose a Disney Princess who is somehow a reflection of who I really am. With that, Belle is closer to who Caryl is.

OUTSPOKEN

She's not one of those easy-to-get girls like even the handsome and strongest man in their town couldn't flutter her heart easily. She's not intimated and turned down Gaston easily. When she was in the Palace, she was able to talk back to Beast and said out loud what's on her mind and the things she doesn't like about him.

Teenagers nowadays sometimes have a two-face, figuratively and literally. They tend to show some good acts but then, later on, they backstab or deep inside they don't want to do it but for the sake of having a good image so let it be. I despise that kind of acts. If you don't want it then drop the No Bomb, if you want to do it or say it, then go, say it. You have your own mind which is capable of thinking, a mouth for the talking and the body for the movement, use it to do what is right and to do what you really want. We are not a puppet, we're humans. But, let's keep in mind also that we should act responsibly and talk responsibly.

SELFLESS

She only has a father whom she loves the most. It was such a selfless act when she bargains herself in exchange for her father's freedom. She couldn't afford to just leave and do what her father says, "RUN", knowing that her old father is sick. Also, she was able to learn to love Beast amid the beast looks and the supposed to be beast behavior and personality.

I'm a protestant but I watched Bo Sanchez' Full Tank video. In the video I watched last night, he said that when you talk about love it means that you are ready to die in the name of love. It's like Jesus loves us and He died for us just to save us because He loves us the most. It was also in the Bible wherein it says that,

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. - 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

And what did Belle and her father showed to us is a selfless love. They both love each other so much that they are willing to gamble their line on it. Also, the story shows that Belle loves Beast truly and deeply that she was able to accept him even his flaws. She both saved his father and Beast because of her selfless and unconditional love for them.

CURIOUS

She was curious. She lives in a small town yet her imagination and dreams are as wide as the ocean. She even said that she wants an adventure in a great wide somewhere because she's curious and she knows that it will help her to grow and to learn. She's like her Papa, an inventor, who has a great and innovative mind.

They say curiosity kills the cat but then let's not forget that what we have right now, in terms of science and technology, was the output of the curious people whom we called as the scientist, inventors, researchers, and innovators. Let's not stick to one level, we should soar high and go beyond our borders. Be curious in a good and innovative way.

BIBLIOPHILE

Belle is a certified Bibliophile. She is named as the "Odd One" because her nose is always stuck in a book. She walks amid the busy little town with at ease while traveling to the other dimension and that what makes her more peculiar but special.

No one understands what's on the mind of bookwork except for a fellow bookworm, of course. I really do understand Belle like walking while reading and you couldn't afford to close the book because it's a page-turner. A bookworm is a wanderlust and traveler. You can learn so many things just by reading whether it's a fiction or non-fiction or inspirational books. I believe that the great weapon that no can steal is your knowledge and wisdom. Through reading, you'll get to travel on one's mind and travel to other dimension and to travel to other places and to understand others as well. You will be able to reflect and gain more knowledge, skills and wisdom just by reading. That is why when Beast gave the huge library to Belle, she was beyond happy because a library is a paradise for every bibliophile.

I think I'm late already but I still want to share this one.
