4 years is 1,460 days. They are designed to live up to 4 years, basically. Like most electronics, the designers prefer customers to buy more frequently.

Ahh fyn is bad at maths and didn't notice that. It makes sense now, in a hideous kind of way as fyn has a low level disdain for built-in obselescence XD
