A Beautiful Demoiselle ...
Yesterday it was really sunny and warm and I felt very lucky to catch a glimpse of this beautiful Beautiful demoiselle... That's actually the name. It also has a more impressive scientific name, Calopteryx virgo.
From what I read on this site this could be an immature male as the female has got a white spot on its wings. Perhaps you know about them and can clarify. One thing's sure as it's not the first time I've seen these creatures they seem to like living near that stream.
I used my mobile phone to take the photo as any noticeable 'click' of a camera would have scared the two (seemingly) identical specimens away. My mobile works better in cloudy days - thank goodness because that's the norm in these parts.
AWEsome .^^.
Thank you @i2015park !
Oh!
Really nice shot @cryptocariad! She looks like she's on a flying leaf 🍃
Thank you @marblely ... Indeed it does look like that. It was such a sunny and warm day, alas, today's back to rain so I won't see that sort of creature basking like that... Yesterday I spotted a broad-bodied chaser dragonfly; I'm hoping to go back to its spot to try and take a photo (but not today I guess).
