Dragon Queen Water Colored
Hello Steemit Community!
Today I have an older water color painting for you to see.
I had the idea of a princess from the medieval ages to be sick of knights killing off dragons to win over women, so she learns as a child how to communicate and train the dragons to work for her. When she becomes older she is known as the Dragon Queen because the power she has over the dragons.
I think it has the makings of a good story, unfortunately I probably wont get around to it for a while because I have many more stories that I want to work on first, plus I think I think I would have to do some more research to do the story justice.
But what do you think of the story?
Anyway here are some pictures I took of the painting process.
This picture I outlined in pen before I sketched it all out in pencil, because of this there are some apparent mistakes ( v.v)
I really like the way the dragon came out though. I want to remake this picture later this year after I finish some of my other projects. Next time I make this picture, I want to make the queen more dressed up~
When I was playing with the colors for the picture I did this lighter coating, which after finishing the picture I ended liking the idea of a dragon with very light scales. When I make this picture again, I may change the dragon scales to match this stage of the picture more than the end picture.
Here is the final picture.
I really enjoyed making the water on here. I really like the idea of a smooth crystal clear waterfall. This was my first time painting water in this way with watercolors. I really like how it came out in some areas, although I really want to improve in the pool ripples and splashes for next time.
I don't watercolor often, but I hope these several posts of my past art pieces can give you a glimpse of the art process.
Anyway, until next time~
Cheers!
