"Liberty" 222 mph Top Fuel Drag Boat parked at a Restaurant parking lot
I was walking to work yesterday afternoon, and I see this large chrome engine in a restaurant parking lot.
I was on the other side of the road, so I run across the street to find out what kind of beast machine would have such a beautiful engine.
A piece of Top Fuel Drag Boat Racing history is in front of me. Her name is Liberty and she was a record holder from 1979-1981, with a top speed of 222 mph.
I can't imagine 222 mph in a car, so that speed in a boat sounds completely insane to me. How crazy was Dave Nolte?
I wish I coukd hear this big block engine run.
I'm @runridefly, and today I met Liberty, a beautiful drag boat with a long list of record breaking speed.
How insane would 222MPH be on water?
So fun on a motor cycle, I'm guessing it would be almost horrifying in a boat.
