Not necessarily. If enough people would believe in it, then the price of the Steem would be independent from the Bitcoin (BTC). Steem itself is better than the Bitcoin (BTC).
But nowadays the number of the active users on the Steem blockchain is decreasing (dropping/falling).
Nowadays the price of the Bitcoin (BTC) is around $9200 USD, the price of the Steem is around $0.15 USD.
