RE: Should dPoll offer tokens/points?

in #dpoll5 years ago

Voted for Yes.

When you create a token, that shifts the incentives away from Steem's built-in reward system to something different. You really want to be sure that the shift is in a direction that aligns with your core values.

People love gamification, but you should spend some time on thorough analysis of your user-base to make sure that the design is effective and balanced, and to be aware of potential pitfalls/challenges. What percent of your users are creating polls vs answering polls? How many people are passing through to steemit to upvote the polls they respond to? How many users offer additional thought, and do the pollsters respond to those comments?

Is your system just a simple poll interface, or is it improving community engagement in a way that aligns with your core values and Steem objectives? Based on the current answers to those questions, you then design a DP reward system that incentives a behavioral transition from the actual status quo to what you wish it was.
