Before Steem (or in parallel with it) what was/is the main platform to express yourself online?

I haven't created a poll in a while. I believe this will be an interesting exercise.

Our previous background (or lack thereof?) in social media or blogging can influence the type your content you prefer, at least until you get used to a new platform.

It also can better explain our diversity of post types, from long form in-depth content, to posts with a photo by phone of a cat (or what you had for breakfast), and anything in-between.

It might be difficult for some to choose one. I made the poll single selection on purpose, so you'll need to choose one of them. Whichever you feel is more representative for you. Or "Other", and please specify which is that platform.

Looking forward to your answers.

If you're reading this soon, enjoy your week-end! Otherwise, have a great day!

I wasn't exactly involved in social media much util STEEM. I have had various accounts and I have done some blogging, commenting etc. But it was not as much as STEEM.

Other forums and blogs, for example Ubuntu.hu, which I publish both blog posts and comment in various forum topics or in blog posts, both about mainly Ubuntu Linux and other Linux distributions and free softwares. I also use HAmatőr fórum, which is a Hungarian forum about amateur radio related topics.
By the way, nowadays Steem is not my main platform to express myself online.
I recently started to be less active as a blogger on the Steem blockchain, because nowadays I rarely get real, human comments under my Steem blog posts. And many people are in the same (or in similar) shoes as me. The problem is that many people are focusing only on their blog posts, and they don't care about other people's blog posts. This leads to a lot of blog posts without real, human comments. Or with only a few real, human comments. I think that nowadays blogging on the Steem blockchain is simply not worth my time, nor my work/effort.
