According to you which is the most reliable source of information-Social media, print media or electronic media?

Hello friends!

We are living in an era where we receive various types of information from various sources. Sometimes correct information is provided to us but many times we get false information or contradictory information. All these things lead to confusion and create a state of chaos.
We have many sources of information. Traditional newspapers, television news channels and the latest social media are the sources from which we get valuable information.

some people believe that that information is correct which is provided by newspapers while others have immense faith on social media platforms. Many people believe that news channels provide us false information. Some people even believe that the news or information provided by the government agencies are the most reliable and correct.

So, my question is:
According to you which is the most reliable source of information?

  • Newspapers.

  • Television news channels.

  • Social media.

  • Government agencies.

  • We never get correct and authentic information.

Not completely. It can be picked out of stories, but it's never really in context, it's meant to mislead or incite different emotions, and it's biased based rather than fact based reporting.

The problem is, when it comes to news about the government, their own agencies feed the information to newspapers, television outlets and social media, so instead of three different sources, there's only one. The same could be said for a lot of the news we get because they'll come from a news service, like the AP or Reuters, and then get disseminated that way.

So, I generally do a little hunting around different places, which have different slants on things, to get at the truth. Also, I read more than just the headline and the opening paragraph, since a lot of the actual information is much farther down in the story. A news show will generally tell you what they want you to hear, not what you need to know, and social media, well it's just a vehicle for sharing these other outlets.

The option I would really prefer is not on this list. Whenever possible I prefer to read primary sources, or media that cites primary sources and links to the source in its original form. This is rare. But as consumers of information we should insist on it more often.

I chose government agencies because sometimes these are the primary source.

Too much emotion, agenda-pushing, jumping to conclusions, and lack of proper information to get reliable news easily now a days. Not saying you can't ever get good news, but it's very rare imo.

News is broken, and needs a fix... badly.

  • Newspapers.

It depends on the company. Major newspapers, web portals, news agencies can't risk to lie and get questioned as sources.
