An easy way to find and eradicate self-voters like @checkthisout and @moses153

Hey guys, want Steemit to be a better place, instead of having to deal with something like this every week?

https://steemit.com/downvoting/@timcliff/let-s-make-downvoting-great-again

Then all we have to do is check out the top rewarded posters and repliers once a week, through these very well put together lists by @chinadaily

In just a few minutes, I found a serious self-voter:

Now all we have to do is somehow make that guy to not get a cent for his scam. Not just by downvoting him, which will cost us all precious voting power and will most likely not harm him much if we don’t have a ton of SP. There needs to be someone who outright cancels payments when something so obvious happens.

Spread the word, inform the whales, and consult the charts of @dailychina. I gave you an easy way to make Steemit a better place.

Update: I found more of those!

Who are you trying to fool here? You are spamming just to get votes from an alt!

Said alt is also doing the same

The idea of canceling rewards is not going to fly, because it overrides the consensus of the voters.

The solution to the problem is downvoting.

how about changing the algorithm so you can't vote your own topics/comments?

The actual abusers would just create a second account and upvote account A from account B. The people who aren’t interested in abusing would follow the rules. The abusers would end up with even more of an advantage than what they have today.

then which whales can we contact for downvoting?

Right now there really isn’t a place to report it. That is something I am trying to address/change.

Stuff like this can be discouraging for new authors.

I don't see any problem with self voting if it generates good rewards.

dude, that that back while you still can XD

They're using the system in a way that is most beneficial for them. Unless the system changes these people will always exist.

There is no need to change the system if we just downvote them.

Your downvote power is the same as your upvote. If you don't have their gigantic SP, it won't matter.

I generally find them to be a necessary evil. That's the number one thing I found about Steemit. If you just think you can post content without knowing the right people, then you sink. I would have loved to do away with all the bots and self voting, just write and reap rewards, but it's not easy. It's not just about the rewards, but also about increasing the visibility of your content with other people.

The problem as I see it is on the long term. After all, the value of the cryptocurrency is all based on how much value people are willing to give it and stuff like this will turn away from taking time with their content, or even leave the platform together.
