Dota 2 - Unboxing the 2017 Collectors Aegis

Hi All, here are some pictures unboxing the 2017 Dota 2 Collectors Aegis as well as my thoughts.

This item was shipped out to players who had a Compendium Level of 1000 or more during The International Dota 2 championships of 2017.

The front and back of the box is made from cardboard with some pretty cool box art. This seems quite standard.

The aegis case then slides out from the box and greets you with a wall of foam and protective plastic.

The top of the case then folds back. The case seems to be made from some kind of plastic coated in a thin texture, its a bit hard to describe.

Upon taking out the protective foam we can now see the Aegis which is removable. The badge below the Aegis seems to be fixed into place with glue.

The back of the case has a hole similar to what you would find on a picture or photo frame.

The design on the Aegis is quite impressive and eye-catching. I'm not sure what it is made out of but it is quite heavy and feels good to hold.

The back of the Aegis is much simpler. Mine unfortunately came with some strange brown marks.

Here's a final piece of what it looks like in the case after the protective film has been taken off the glass viewing panel.

Overall I think it is a great collectors piece worthy of putting on display in your gaming/hobby room at home.

It would have been nice if it came with a certificate of authenticity personally signed by Gabe, or is that asking too much?
