Piece Of Pie
I am still adjusting with the use of the new version of esteem app. It's not easy navigating for me because I was accustomed to the older version:
It took me a few try then gave up using the search function. I can't bring up relevant results say if I'm searching for a tag same when I'm searching for a user. The older version had that option when you search there is a drop-down option for user and hashtag. The new version doesn't have that anymore so today I tried once again searching and by accident I found out that I need to put the @sign if I'm searching for a user ...whew took awhile although other apps or sites doesn't require the @ sign. I was searching for the hashtag of a contest but it's not working for me so I manually searched for the owner of the contest who I can now find because of my discovery of the @,sign hehehe.
Hashtag: When composing my post and about to add tags I could not tell how many tags have I entered already could it be because my screen is small? When you enter a tag it gets highlighted in gray and if you want to edit that tag you have to be in that highlighted area which I don't find helpful compared with the previous version I can type all the tags and edit without hitting a snag. This slows me down and it is not a good user experience. Maybe the admin can do away with the highlight including the blue highlight on the tag it confuses me.
Edit mode. While reviewing my post I noticed that eye icon on top which is helpful when reviewing but when you switch to edit mode that is where my problem starts. We're using mobile phones with small screen to move your cursor so when I scroll up and down the cursor highlights everything on its path or accidentally types anything ruining my post.
These are my observations and my personal reaction to the new version as a user. Don't think that I'm being negative I like esteem but if I couldn't use it base on my expected ease of use then I may seldom use it. This is me talking about my own there could be some users who are more patient and more savvy but this is me
@esteem @good-karma @esteem.app hope you get to read my feedback in case you might need to hear from your users.
This post is also my entry to doodletrends contest. I wish I could learn to adjust and treat it like a piece of pie.
