He shouldn't have to "admit" this. His body was trying to tell him he wasn't getting adequate nutrition. He should try some beef next time.
The way vegans react to stories like this proves that they're not as compassionate as they like to believe they are. If this man felt like he needed to eat foods that are natural to our species because he wasn't feeling well when eating only (out of season) plants (go figure), that's his choice and anyone who belittles him for it is just an asshole, plain and simple.
