Hi friends

The boy (Sagar prajapat) and his father (Pankaj prajapat) in picture I met them in donkey haat (market) both hailed from a village Jhalawad District, in Rajasthan. They both came on foot travelling 180 km with their 14 donkeys for their sale and it took them 6 days to travel. Pankaj use to come to this festival since he was 8 year old and coming every year without a miss. Pankaj told me " about 25 year back I use to come with my father with about 100 to 140 donkeys and all were sold in a day or two." he also added " this fest use to be held for around 15-20 days but now it is held up only for 5 or 6 days. With coming of tractors and other technology no one needs donkey anymore.I don't think, Sagar will also be interested in coming to this fair again".
Sagar has kept different names of his donkey as per their appearnce or behaviour.
for eg: he named one uullu (owl) because it does not sleep itself at night and also does not let others sleep.

Both father and son had sold 9 of their donkeys had 5 more to sell in 2 days. I talked to Sagar (who studies in 6th standard) what he thinks about donkey and how it is different from any other animal? he gave me a very strange reply" Yeh bada mulaayam janwar"(it is a very soft animal). I was a bit confused at his reply his father said " you have to spend some time with this animal, then you will also understand".

thanks
