Freedom ParadeFreedom Parade ...........I've watched this a few times, not sure what to say. The song is haunting. The music video seems to be addressing mortality and approaching death. The beginning is clearly a reference to the film "Moon" (directed by Duncan Jones, Bowie's son) in which cloned astronauts are discarded and replaced after several years of use. The dead astronaut's skull is salvaged and then worshipped(?). (Even in death, we can't let him go? I read a comment on youtube that the three on crosses represent Elvis and Lennon based on costumes, we kill our idols? refuse to let them go?) The setting of old farmhouses and cornfields...could be touching on "Pet Cemetary"...? In which, the desire to bring back loved ones from the grave horribly backfires. What does it all mean? I don't know. But I'll miss Bowie...
