The corporate music world is sinister, and it is dismaying to consider the real people who readily pretend to be artists and composers. When R.E.M. disbanded in 2011, it is telling that Stipe described themselves as "friends and co-conspirators." New meaning to that now. He said then that they were over and would never play again. Is that because Donald refused to write any more songs for them? This has obviously been going on for a very long time. I wonder about the song slaves of the 50s-60s-70s who fed the industry.Thank you, Donald Marshall, for telling your story.
