Top 10 Reported Domain Name Sales For August 12th, 2018
The crypto markets have been taking a beating and almost every crypto is losing ground. Interestingly, over this weekend Bitcoin tested the $6,000 dollar line and held strong. I was one among others that thought it would dip below $6,000 and drop to maybe around $5500. This weekend showed some strength but I'm not sure it's enough. I think we're going to be seeing red days for the rest of the year... hopefully I'm wrong.
These down days in crypto just make me happy that I'm also invested in domain names. They continue to be a great investment for me, and it's kind of nice that there isn't a measurable value that is constantly changing everyday. Sure, domain values change along with trends, but there's no stock ticker to show you that every moment of the day. Domain investing is more about confidence in what you bought. You make a move on a domain with confidence that it will sell for more. Like crypto and stocks, you don't know when but you don't have a ticker teasing you everyday that it's down.
Anyway, here's the top 10 highest priced domain sales that have been reported or recorded from yesterday. This list is compiled from data provided by namebio.com

These top 10 sales have a combined total of $29,022 dollars giving the top 10 an average price of $2,902 dollars.
Domains with History
The only domain I could find was number 1 on the list (share.cc) that had a recorded sales history. The domain sold before on July 21st, 2015 at GoDaddy for just $250 dollars. That makes yesterday's sale a profit of $6750 dollars over just 3 years! I'm not a fan of .cc domains, but this one is impressive.
About the Names
Today's list breaks down to 8 .com domains, 1 .cc and 1 .ly. There were two numeric domains and a handful of brandable domains on the list. Personally, my favorite on the list is moneycloud.com and I think the buyer was probably an investor. That seems like a wholesale price to me.
