Week 30 (March 2019)

Welcome to Recent Developments. In this series I post about domain names that sold recently and have since become developed into an actual website. In other words, this is a focus on end user sales and what they are doing with their recent domain purchase!

End user info in the domain name industry can be extremely valuable. You can learn a lot from this type of data, because it shows you what an end user price was for a particular domain name. Hopefully you can apply that knowledge to your own domain investing both on the buy as well as the sale side. If you know what people are willing to pay for a domain it can help you price your domains right to sell.

On top of all that, it's fun to see what's new on the web!

Domains Recently Developed

Today I've put together 3 websites / domains that all sold last year in the fall. They were sold and for a long time had, "Coming Soon" pages in place. I made a note of them and decided to revisit some of them and see what's been developed! Although they may be from last fall, I still throw these in the bucket as Recent Developments. Enjoy!

Rarest.org

The first domain is Rarest.org. This domain sold for $600 at Flippa on September 8th 2018. What's been developed at this address is an entertainment blog of sorts. They focus on putting together information about the rarest everyday items you might find.

I'm not a huge fan of the domain, but I like what they've done with it. Typically, I stay away from domains that are tense terms such as past tense, as well as plurals, and suffix domains such as this one. It's not great, but it fits with what they're doing.

FastVPS.com

Next we have FastVPS.com. This domain sold for $2,075 at NameJet on September 18th 2018. The site developed at this domain is a VPS / Hosting service provider advertising service in Canada, Lithuania, and the U.S.

I've said it before, I'm not a huge fan of combining words and acronyms in domain names. That said, this isn't terrible. It's relatively short and I think a more known acronym. It gets a passing grade but I personally would think twice before investing in names like this.

BoldSite.com

Finally, we have BoldSite.com. This domain sold for $2,540 at BuyDomains on October 3rd 2018. The site developed at this domain is for a media company that designs and creates images of environments. The example I can give is when a new stadium is being designed and they want to share the images of the design as real as possible they render people into them.

As for the domain, I like this one. I would have definitely considered this domain as an investment. It's a simple, short, easy to remember domain name. Very brandable. This domain gets and A.

Anyway, that concludes this edition of Recent Developments.
