Weekly Top 20 Domain Name Sales
Week of 08/27/18 to 09/02/18
It's been a good week for domain investing, and the list somewhat shows this with lower prices reported than last week. It could be because of the long weekend and kids going back to school has people busy and missing out on deals. I personally picked up a few domains at auction that I was not expecting to win but did due to fewer bids but also missed out on a few because I myself was busy this weekend.
I think some great names sold at auction for low prices and if you were bidding you likely picked up some good domains. For example, I saw that honeyjar.com sold at GoDaddy for only $2,525 USD. In my opinion that's a great price for a very brandable domain name and if I would have seen that one at auction yesterday you can bet I would have been bidding on it at that price.

Domains with History
Number 1 on the list (amz.com) has a recorded sales history. The domain sold for $9,750 dollars on January 19th, 2010 at SnapNames. It's been 8 years since that sale but what a jump it's made. That's a gain of $47,250 dollars... nice!
Number 7 on the list (sudden.com) has a recorded sales history. It sold for $17,000 dollars on February 19th, 2008. The sale was private but reported. That's a gain of $7,950 dollars over 10 years.
Number 11 on the list (vqx.com) has a recorded sales history. It sold for $11,578 dollars just a few months ago on June 28th, 2018 at Sedo. That's a nice $2,652 flip!
Number 12 on the list (k.vg) has a recorded sales history. It sold previously for $1,100 dollars on August 27th, 2015 at Flippa. That's a gain of $8,899 dollars in just 3 years.
About the Names
Today's list breaks down to 13 .com domains, 4 .top, 1 .io, 1 .vg and 1 .ag domain. Seems we had a few more Chinese investors and sales this week than last which is interesting to note as a lot of US domain investors have said that the Chinese market has cooled off.
Obviously, I would pick any of the 3 letter .com domains as favorites, in fact my favorite of them is #1 (amz.com). Skipping those, LLL.coms I would take sudden.com as my next favorite and then rejuve.com. Both are great names with tons of potential. I think both of these domains sold at prices that leave a lot to gain for an investor.
