How to get the IO domain extension for your tech or sound based company/website

The IO Domain extension is the official ccTLD (Country-code Top-Level Domain) of the British Indian Ocean Territory. However, it’s more associated with tech firms and startups nowadays since IO or I/O is the common way that Input/Output is referred to, which is also why many tech companies opt to use it instead of other popular domain extensions.

Since the IO domain has no additional requirements unlike some other countries where you need to either be a citizen of the said country or you’re required to have a company or trademark (sometimes all of the above), it shouldn’t be that hard to find an IO domain… except for the fact that not that many domain registrars provide IO Domains.
