Dolphins are Awesome

You see this guy? All he wants in a fish. He doesn't care that you want to touch him. As far as he is concerned your just the delivery person. You don't have a fish tough luck getting him to stick around. Dolphins aside from their general awesomeness have a darker side.

Dolphins are patient and fair.

Dolphins have no problem waiting in line to eat. When it is time eat the pod of dolphins to get their dinner on they will corral a school of fish and then take turns one by one going through the middle of the school. This way every dolphin gets to eat. They have been known to play with their food like smacking it with their tail or hitting it with echolocation to stun it then they have an easy meal.

Dolphins eat fish whole.

I’m not sure why they have teeth if they swallow fish whole. Maybe it so we can get a good picture of pearly whites. Come to think of it my dog swallows its food whole too.

Maybe my dog is secretly a dolphin with legs… OK seriously though a dolphin will eat the fish head first so as not to hurt itself on the scales and fins of the fish its eating. My dog on the other hand doesn’t care at all how the food gets in her mouth.

Sometimes dolphins collide with each other.

I know what you’re thinking. How do they run into each other? It is when they become airborne that problems happen. Everything is cool under the water where they are in control of where they are going. Take them to the sky and they are just falling with style… into other dolphins. Most of the time they come away with minor injuries, other times it can be worse.

Dolphins don’t need to be in a tank.

Last but not least. Dolphins should not be in captivity. They belong in the ocean and river ways. I love getting to see them and touch them, but this in not where they belong. These animals swim hundreds of miles a day. Kind of hard for them to do that in a tank that is about 200 feet long and 100 feet wide. Football players have more room to move than the dolphins. Dolphins need to be out in the ocean where they can do what dolphins do best. Swim and eat!
