In the past, a red warning would pop up if I tried to use more than five. I wonder what else has changed?

You are welcome :) Nothing has changed on Steemit - still 5 tags. But if you use Steepshot, an app similar to Instagram, you can use up to 20 tags. Steepshot has an app for android phones and if you have an iPhone 8 you can enter the trial for the apple version.
