The Adventures of Nico in Puerto Rico
We moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico 3 weeks ago with our daughter and our large furry love-beast named Nico.
Nico is a 2 year old English Goldendoodle. His mother was a blonde English Golden Retriever and his father was a white Standard poodle. He was born in a litter of 5 pups on Christmas Day in 2015 at the breeder’s home in Ohio, US. His temperament is incredible...smart, playful, docile, and relaxed. Additionally we’ve done a lot of training with him, so he is now mainly a joy to take out anywhere.
Puerto Rico is very dog friendly. Maybe everyone loves dogs this much and we just didn’t experience it so much before the move, because we couldn’t take him everywhere like we can here? I don’t know, but here it is amazing.
We took him to the bank last week. The bank personnel at first only see my husband walk in and say formerly, “Hello Mr. King. We have your accounts all in order...EEEEEEEEE!! The dog...!!!” The entire conversation stops. The bank personnel’s voice goes up, she drops to the floor with the dog and strokes him and babbles “¡que lindo!” (So pretty!) Everything stops when people see this dog. This happens multiple times whenever we go out with him!
I adore this experience. 😍😍 Authenticity is the most endearing quality to me, so when people instantaneously drop all supposed propriety, squat on the ground smiling and petting this dog - I’m so happy. It’s like grown adults suddenly become children again! Beaming, squealing and suddenly sharing memories of the dogs they’ve had in life. Their eyes light up when they see this dog and share their own stories of love.
And Nico doesn’t mind the attention one bit. 🤗
After the bank he went to a restaurant and waiting patiently under the table while we had a snack. The restaurant is on the beach so it was very challenging for Nico to wait nicely while he could hear the ocean right there near us.
It’s was all worth the wait to him for the shear joy of running back home up the beach.

Nico is a really sweet dog. I remember meeting him awhile back before you guys moved and he was so fun, playful, and well mannered. Looks like he likes his new home as I'm sure you and Sean do as well.
I can't help but envy that most people in these pictures are wearing shorts, short sleeves, and garments that expose more than 10% of their skin. Here in East TN lately exposed skin does not feel good when you go outside as the temps have been brutal (by my standards anyway). It's like we moved to Michigan or something...

Oh, my God! This dog has amazed me. Such a beautiful creature! In the first photo she's so dreamy gazing at the ocean as man. And so much joy in her face during the games! Great photo. A great family pet. Incredible dog. Very nice and good post.
Good to hear some good news from Puerto Rico, seems so Many left from the hurricane damage it would be a great time to get a deal, the island is going to be just as beautiful as ever again
The island is coming back...slowly. It is a good time for a great deal, and investing here now also helps her recovery.
Guess that is what the Bavarians mean, when they say: "he has a life, like a young dog!"

Awww Nico es lo mas lindo que he visto el día de hoy que linda combinación sucede de estas dos razas, mi perro llamado Dominique, su padre era un Golden Retriever y su madre no era de raza. El resultado una camada de 4 lindos cachorros negros pero con pelaje de Golden.

Awww Nico is the cutest thing I've seen today that beautiful combination happens of these two races, my dog named Dominique, his father was a Golden Retriever and his mother was not of race. The result is a litter of 4 cute black puppies but with Golden fur. Have a nice day!
