How To Stop Your Dog From Barking Too Much
Excessive barking: you want the dog to bark. It is only natural and you want the dog to alert anyone outside your house that they are there to protect but if it is constant then you can use the shake can, which is a soda can or water bottle filled with only a handful of pennies. Keep the can behind your back at first, then shake the can near there face or body and say, “Quiet” FIRMLY!!
If the dog is afraid of the noise, you can use a spritzer bottle from home depot, which has a high firm stream of water coming out. Use it the same way, keep it behind the back, then spritz in the face and say "Quiet" firmly. If they continue, spray again and say "No" Quiet.
Once they are quiet for 10 seconds, you can praise to reinforce and say, "Good Quiet!" Please do not say good quiet in a super excited voice. Keep it calm.
If the shake can does not work, you can use an air horn.
