"Triage" for sterilization at the moment
As I have said many times before, sterilization is our primary goal at Krabi Animal Welfare and any organization such as ours that is thinking long-term would have a similar goal. No organization will ever be able to make any sort of headway in the curbing of homeless animal suffering unless they have the same objective. One mama dog has the potential to create 20 babies and the multiplying effect carries on down the line.
However, since we do not have unlimited funds and neither does any other organization we have to be a bit selective with who we decide to "fix" for the time being.
She doesn't have a name, but she is reasonably young, very friendly, and overall in quite good health despite not having a home. She could stand to eat a bit more because she is very thin, and we'll do our best to see to it that she does get adequite amounts of food provided we can find her again in the future.

She will be sterilized, treated for fleas and ticks, vaccinated, and will stay with us for a few days. Perhaps it seems a bit cruel that we only keep them for a few days but there are several reasons why this is the case. 1, we do not have the space to look after dozens of dogs indefinitely. 2, the dogs become attached and even after we drop them back off many of the ones that have had to stay with us for a long period of time will find us and hang around outside our gate - and that is just heartbreaking. 3, we don't have the funding to feed large amounts of dogs and cats (we wish we did!)
Hopefully after being introduced back into her "home area", where she does have a lot of pals already life can be a bit better for her and she wont be pressured into making more homeless doggies in the future.

it is sad that you can't help more of them than you do but we are thankful for the ones you do get to help!
yeah, that is the way that we think about it as well. Every sterilization that we do is preventing the suffering of an exponential amount of homeless dogs and cats down the line.
