Adopting a rescue dog.
Our dog is a rescue dog, when we picked him up it was the first time he'd ever been in a car and the first time he'd ever left the stables where he had lived for about 6 months.
On the drive home he was sick in the car and howled all the way home. Once home I walked him into the house, another first for him as he lived in a dirty old caravan with the only 2 of his brothers that hadn't been sold on. We left him to explore the house and his nose went in to overdrive as he ran around to explore his new home.
The first major problem we had was stairs, he worked out how to run up them as he chased the girls but was terrified of getting back down and stood crying until I carried him down.
The next problem was taking him for a walk, he'd never been on a lead before and never seen traffic so he was scared of everything. Even now 4 years later buses and lorries scare him and he is nervous around strangers, especially men. That said he is great with the girls and always protects the house, keeping a close eye on anyone walking past.
Loyal dog...
Lovely dog! All ours are rescue dogs. They make wonderful pets. They are family members and are treated as such. We have one that sings for his breakfast - Beethoven's ninth! lol
I would never get a dog that wasn't a rescue dog.

Awww, he's adorable. I've always had rescue animals as well - they take some work to make them feel safe and comfortable, but the return of love, loyalty and devotion is priceless.

I really like such kind stories. We have 14 adopted dogs and 4 puppies. We don't know how it's happened it's just has happened... :)

He was already called Cruz so we stayed with that as he had enough changes to get used to.
