Abolitionist Abstractions Vlog 92: The fall and (subsequent) rise of Murder Dog!
Here is today's vlog! Since the last recording, Murder Dog and I got to spend some more time with the #BipTwins and the new license plates finally arrived! Once we had the latter in our possession, it meant that we could once again travel through Nassau with a little less worry. Due to that fact, we spent Thursday night in one of our old favorite stealth camping spots. It also meant we got to be closer to the kids!
After a couple of days of that, though, we received quite a scare. While playing at the park with the kids on Friday, Murder Dog took an ill advised jump and landed rather awkwardly. She initially seemed to shake it off but proceeded to show signs of a serious issue shortly after. After consulting with her veterinary office, I decided to take her to a local emergency hospital. It was a good thing I did, as her condition began to quickly deteriorate once we arrived. It turned out that she had managed to rupture her spleen and was bleeding internally. After trying to stabilize her for several hours, the decision for surgery was made. After a couple of nerve racking hours, though, the surgeon came out to tell me that the surgery had been a success, and that her condition started to improve almost immediately!
Since then I have stayed at the hospital and checked in with her as often as I can. After some initial complications and some extra concern from the vets, she has slowly started to make some progress. She still has a ways to go, but all signs are pointed in the right direction for now. This is going to cost quite a bit of money, but there was no hesitation from me in deciding to proceed with what was needed. She's just too damn important!
