Dogezer; turning fantasies into dreams, redefining the software space.

Going through the trending category, I came across a contest, wait, is it a contest? Well, that is what the owners called it, Sponsored Writing Contest: Dogezer.
This was definitely much more than a contest to me.Personally, it almost seem like a game changer, a dream come true.

As I put this piece together, I was so anxious because I wanted to get my personal project on that platform as soon as possible to see what the new technology (dogezer) has in stock for me and my partners.
This is the best news that I have had in ages and as I planned to write this article I was like;

No wonder the write-up was titled "turning fantasies to dreams", this is exactly what it is to me. In 2014 an Idea was born in my head to build the first self sustaining market place for Africa to source products from all over the world as well as access larger international markets without middlemen. This idea came up due to the fraud I suffered when I tried to buy Hp envy laptop from a dealer who claimed he was sourcing his products from Aliexpress. I was so broken by this because it was my pocket money I had sacrificed to get the laptop. I had to survive for weeks without proper nutrition just because I tried to buy a low cost laptop.

After the event I begun thinking of what I could do to help myself and others escape this fraud and an idea came up. If I could build a market place with the module similar to that of Aliexpress but with more improved security features such as ewallet and escrow powered by cryptocurrency it would have been a good start to eliminating middle men and fraud.

I contacted a friend and discussed it with him. After few months of discussions and research we came out with great business proposal and a plan on how the platform was to be. every detail was carefully considered.
But there was a big problem; none of us was a tech guy and we both could not code. This meant that we needed to outsource the building of this wonderful platform which also meant that we needed to be open with all the details that would make our module uniquely suited for the African markets.

We understood the risks involved and went ahead seeking out suitable web application building companies in Ghana. Lots of people took our project but could not complete it because of the complexity. We lost money and time but we were not ready to quit.
We decided to look for labor outside of Ghana and we landed in Nigeria. The first developers we worked with seemed so promising but in the end we lost more money and time. Fast forward to today, it is 4 years since the birth of the idea and a lot have changed since but we keep updating our module even though it remains to be built. Recently a company in India charged as 18,000 US dollars to complete the work but we could not afford.

Now I hope you can understand why this is much more than a contest to me. It is an opportunity to keep trying. It is a chance to keep my dreams alive in ways that I cannot fully explain.

How will Dogezer change the software startup space?

Well, first of all it will enable people who do not have the coding skills to be able to build their ideas even without the pressure of huge capital investment. This will take the middleman (venture capitalists) out of the equation giving the complete benefit to the founder and the patterning developers.

The number of software, apps, platforms etc. that only ended as fantasies are a million times more than that which was successfully built. This is because according to research only approximately (0.3 to 0.5) % of people on earth knows how to code and this include both hobbyist, wannabes and those that actually code.
This means that there would be high cost in building complex software that are not already available to be bought as scripts online.

With Dogezer this will all change because a non-coder who have the dream can get their dreams built into reality without capital and only get to put money in when the business brings in capital. This is empowered by a token award scheme where one only need to give tokens based on contribution and buy this tokens back when they start operations.

How will alleviating the financial burden on startup founders affect their progress?

I think this point was clearly dealt with in my story above. A dream that was born in 2014 now have a chance to be put forth in 2018 after wasting so much money on developers who ended up failing to provide the needed product.
With Dogezer founders can spend their little budget on the other aspects of start up aside the platform in other to maximize its potential to scale.

With the financial burden off, founders can have enough room to think more and avoid compromising on quality due to small budgets. I remember at a point in time myself and my team thought of buying second hand scripts which would have eliminated the unique components of our idea. This was all because we did not have enough on our budget to get the right people to build our original idea for us.

What is even more wonderful on Dogezer ?

They have all the tools for the team to coordinate and work remotely from any part of the world. This is just more than I could ask for. Communication is one most vital process of building anything as simple as roofing to as complex as blockchain technology. Dogezer provides a way for the founder to monitor the progress of every aspect of their project and this has the potential to eliminate errors that would demand complete redo of processes.

This will aid time management as well as efficiency in the whole building process cutting out wastage. I could say much about this aspect of the platform but I am now like;

Now you can build anything you dream without knowing a single line of code and without million dollars as budget.
Check how it all comes together;
