#2 MAN'S BEST FRIEND (MUSINGS OF THE SLEEKEYE)

Men have different chants on Friendship. Axioms have been popularized by the insertion of the one word, friend. The unknowledgeable speaks of Friendship. On the streets, it is defined to the taste and level of life on there. In the city, it takes a whole different costume. We tend to talk more of aspects of life in which we have insufficient knowledge; speeches mask ignorance. But in our hearts, we know these definitions of Friendship do not envelope the unfathomable feelings we have for some group of people whom we come across in life.
Life sets standards and benchmarks for attainment of success in different fields. The most popular standard still remains “Survive or Die”. But in this sphere, as the most social of animals, life left the job of standard-setting for us. Being the most advanced on this social turf, we cannot learn the act of friendship properly from any other class of animals.
The reduction of every emotion felt to words is really the undoing of man. For it has made man to try to explain many things he does not understand. This woe trying to explain things we do not understand led us to depend on the majority of our species who have either not been friends nor do they have an idea into its explanation, to analyze a matter ambiguous to them. Constituting the majority, they set their idea as the norm of the society!
Wallowing in the mire is what pigs do. They have their final goal, to cool off. Groping in the dark is what most men do. Their reason? They are so lazy to let light and knowledge into the hearts. Without knowledge no real progress can be made.
Armed with ignorance and the reality of the complexity of other members of his species, Man decided to look outside himself. As a lazy folk and a lover the darkness, he speaks as expected often of the dark sides of his fellow men. What does he see in darkness if not darkness? Having no idea or knowledge of the abilities and capabilities of neither himself nor his neighbor, he cannot but notice, in the idleness of his mind, the similarities between himself and the other subjects of the Animal Kingdom. He picks a major interest in them. He then discovers their susceptibility and his deification among them. The eulogy and euphoria overwhelm him. Wrapped up in this, he takes them with him on different journeys masked as a shepherd, an animal walker, as a hunter. The joys of victory over their minds and bodies raise his spirit to higher levels. He then discovers that some of these folk can be inside of his house; they could actually live with him. So he takes out those whom he cannot comprehend, fellow men, and admits those he can control.
It is a Dominate The Weak world. The perceived weakness leads to ousting out. This is exactly what man did to his follow man in his heart. Or inability to understand ourselves and mine the human-to-human relationship has led to us to funnily find other friends.
Why call a dog man best friend? What happened to other human beings? Have we gained all we could from interpersonal relationships? Are we running from them because we are scared of what we do not understand?
Kindly reconsider. Define Friendship. Go for it!
