Bad neighbour?!

First of all we have two dogs. They are both used to stay at home alone for a few hours. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to go party. We had a long walk before we left and thought they will be fine until we get back. Unfortunately we didn't manage to come home before 7am. It was extremely cold in the living room as my two rabbits (German giants crashed in the cat door). No 15 minutes later the neighbourwoman rang the door. Apparently the dogs were barking all night, hunting the intruding rabbits out of the house. She also told us that the police was here around 6.30 AM.
She said she did not call them. She also told us that we are not the only neighbours in trouble because of their dogs. So we apologized as good as possible for creating all the drama last night and also promised it would not happen again. Afterwards we called the police and received the information that they had previous calls about our dogs but they couldn'tsa from when. We thought everything was settled for now.
No t half an hour later four policemen in full uniform stand in front of the door and thread that they would take away the dogs if this happens again.
The worst is that I really don't know where those previous calls came from as I never go out during night.
Also a handicapped neighbour got approached. His dogs were always running around freely and he also took care of other dogs. Nowadays you don't see him outside anymore.
