A lonely nights sleep
Tonight, I am laying in bed alone because Elijah is sleeping with Mounty downstairs. Mounty is a sweet sweet boy and is so gentle and tame. I love him dearly. Unfortunately, after dinner tonight, Mounty started vomiting up his food and started drinking a lot of water, and became extremely bloated. I googled the symptoms and this one came up first:
Gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) is also known as "bloat," "stomach torsion," or "twisted stomach." Bloat is an extremely serious condition, and should be considered a life-threatening emergency when it occurs. There are no home remedies for bloat, therefore dog owners must contact their veterinarians immediately if they suspect that their dog has bloat. Dogs can die of bloat within several hours. Even with treatment, as many as 25-33% of dogs with GDV die.
We have taken him for a walk and have massaged his stomach. We are crossing our fingers it is nothing serious, but we remain worried about him. Every veterinarian office is closed at 10:30 pm during winter time in Alaska. Hopefully he will get through the night.

Mounty made it through the night!!!! Pretty sure he just ate a little too much food. Elijah was so good and got up throughout the night to walk him outside in below zero weather and and massage his tummy. He's such a good dad.
