Much respect. Have friends in STL that work for tenthlife which finds homes for cats. They have had fun live fundraisers at the local improv club. They even brought some of the kitties to the show for people to meet.
In Chicago, iO Chicago's owner Charna Halpern hosts a live fundraiser for local animal shelters. She's a big advocate for helping especially dogs.
Something to consider in your worthy efforts: there might be a fun improv club nearby that will help you with a live fundraiser. Or maybe contact Charna and who knows....
Sadly the local community is extremely negative towards all their efforts. There are a few businesses and individuals who support the organization but the overall attitude is that TARC should leave or shut down and that it is the founder's job to fund everything, not theirs. The powers-that-be in the area use their muscle AGAINST supporting it, so some who had supported it had to stop for their own protection. So the help that has come through Steem has really been a lifeline for the organization.
