Simple Dog Food Recipe
Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg poultry innards (hearts, livers, gizzards, etc.)
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, green beans), steamed or boiled
- 1 healthy oil (optional)
- Water for cooking
Instructions:
- Rinse the poultry innards thoroughly and remove any excess fat or connective tissue.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the poultry innards and cook them until they are fully cooked and tender. The cooking time will vary depending on the innards used (typically around 10-20 minutes). Ensure they are cooked through to eliminate any potential bacteria.
- Remove the innards from the pot and let them cool. Once cooled, chop them into small, bite-sized pieces.
- In a separate pot, cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- In another pot, steam or boil the mixed vegetables until they are tender. Drain any excess water.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rice, chopped innards, and cooked vegetables.
- Optionally, add a tablespoon of any healthy oil to provide some additional healthy fats.
- Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Let the homemade dog food cool completely before serving.
- Portion the dog food into appropriate serving sizes based on your dog's needs and store them in airtight containers in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Thaw and warm the individual servings as needed before feeding them to your dog.
It is recommended to consult with your veterinarian to ensure that homemade dog food meets your pet's specific nutritional needs. It's also important to introduce any new changes to your dog's diet gradually and notice any changes to avoid digestive upset
