A German Italian love hate affair

Attila the Hun met love when his barbarians entered Italy. Kind of like the Scots and Irish shaking hands in the middle of the battlefield in Braveheart. This goes against the type of intolerance you expect to find in Europe.

Likewise the Italians disguised as Romans unsuccessfully tried to colonize Germania, stopping Caesar and the spread of the Roman empire to the north.

If you want a modern example of successful tolerance, look at Switzerland. Without kissing ass, they don't engage wars, and the world hoards its money there. Why? Besides being nestled in the mountains which is a natural vantage point, they don't carry the stigma of the rest of central Europe.

Shot outs to @mapipaz and @sergey44. I didn't forget.

As a modern black man, I would not spend hard earned dollars in Spain or Italy. But I would visit Germany, for their women and its food.
